MHS Class of “55” 60^th year Get-together…Sat. Aug. 1^st!

May  Newsletter:  As promised, we are back with the May newsletter following the class get together announcement in April…this month we will zero in on the previous announcement of the August 1^st one day mini-reunion and list the happenings of the big event by the Class Planning Committee…

Perhaps the best way to list the happenings is to repeat the April post:  so here goes!

The Class of 55 will hold a one-day event on Saturday, August 1 at the Montesano Church of God Community Hall on the corner of Church and Spruce Street in Montesano.  The event will start at 11:00 a.m. with an introduction gathering prior to the 12:30 catered luncheon by “Catering by Darla”. The luncheon is $15.00 per person and you may send in your fee ahead of time to:  Louisa Murphie, Planning Committee Treasurer, Class of 55, 224 Kennaston Ave. W., Montesano, WA 98563.  Fee also applies to all attending guests of class members…

Start sending in your updated “Bio”…

As requested in the April newsletter, we are now receiving your updated Bio to be printed in a class booklet that will be distributed at the August 1^st event.  Tell us what has been happening in your life in the past Five years…where have you traveled? Any new grandchildren or great grandchildren? Any GREAT events in your life? How you are doing in retirement? How is the ageing process going?  What are your future plans?  Hobbies? Etc…REMEMBER, THE CUT-OFF DATE TO RECEIVE YOUR BIO IS JULY 13…Any submitted after the cut-off date will NOT be included in the printed Class booklet.  THANKS TO THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY SENT IN YOUR BIO!!!!  (Please send in your Bio even if you are unable to attend…a Booklet will be sent…)

Help us out if you can…

We are having some difficulty in receiving the correct mailing addresses and e-mail’s for the following classmates:  Lloyd Sundberg, Judy Ely, and Patsy Thannum.  If you are aware of the correct address, e-mail and telephone numbers for any of these, please let us know as soon as possible…we want to include these class members in all of the Class news and announcements.  Thanks!  (Send in to:  Class of 55, charbett@comcast.net or Class of 55, 7 Kayla Drive, Montesano, WA 98563.)

Class of 55 has a Facebook posting:  If you want to follow the “Class of 55” on Facebook, just type in Montesano High School Class of 1955 on the Facebook page and you can see all of the updated postings to date.  You may also enter any of your comments on the page and keep in touch with other class members who follow the page.  You can also list private messages to any other class member by going to the “Message” section and contacting any other member.

The Class of “55” also has a Blog  The Class of 55 also has a blog page to catch up on all the latest information and to also post any news by commenting on the page…Just type in:  montehighclassof55blogspot.com to see all the latest class postings.  You may also view all of the past posting for several previous years.

The Class Planning Committee selects two projects to honor at the 60^th event:  The Class planning committee selected two community projects to honor with a donation from the class of 55 at our 60^th event.  The two selections are:  The Astro-turf MHS football field and the MHS Music Department.  You may send in your contribution to either or both of these two selected projects to:  Louisa Murphie, Planning Committee Treasurer, Class of 55, 224 Kennaston Ave. W., Montesano, WA 98563. You also have the ability to present your donation to Louisa at the event on Saturday, August 1^st.  Thanks to all in advance!

Word has been received:  We are happy to announce that we have received word from former teacher, Ms. Pat Clemons…Pat responded with the news that she is recovering nicely from her incident and is making full plans to attend the 60^th event on August 1^st.  Pat responded after receiving our April newsletter and said she will be honored to attend our event.  Some of you class members may have had Miss Clemons as your Seventh grade teacher…and it is with great enthusiasm that we announce Pat will be at our 60^th event…we are looking forward to visiting with Pat in August!

We have contacted Winnie!  For some reason, we sort of lost contact with Winnie Sandberg Woudstra a few years back and were unable to contact her…well, by some miracle, we re-located her up to date e-mail and by chance sent her an e-mail and “viola” she responded…and, Winnie is “live-and-well”…she will be unable to attend the 60^th event in August and has now made reservations to visit Japan with some of her group of friends.  Winnie said she will send in a bio and let us know of all her latest happenings.   Thanks Winnie…Sorry that you will be unable to attend the “60^th” event…however, we are anxious to see your updated bio!

The next newsletter is June 5th   Keep those updates coming…we will be looking for you bio’s to start coming in between now and the next newsletter…also any news of other classmates that you are aware…please send in…it always helps to know what is happening to others, so if you know any latest info on any of our classmates, please send in so we can print in the newsletter.  The next newsletter is June 5th!!!  Please let us know if you are, or are not attending the 60^th event…
